Audi VIN check and auction history

Most Audi VINs begin with WAU (passenger cars) or WA1 (SUVs such as the Q5 and Q7), both assigned to Audi in Germany. Some models built in Hungary use TRU, and Audis built at Volkswagen Group plants in Mexico can carry a Mexican WMI.

For vehicles sold in the US, position 9 is a check digit and position 10 is the model year. Positions 7 and 8 of an Audi VIN commonly identify the model family, which helps confirm that a listing matches the car you are looking at.
